Newborns baby from JKN-KIS (the National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card) participants must be registered to BPJS Kesehatan no later than 28 days after birth and the baby's participation status is immediately active, said BPJS official.

If after that the baby has not been registered, it will be subject to an obligation to pay contributions from the time the baby is born and be subject to sanctions for late contributions as stipulated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 82 of 2018.

According to the Head of Participation and Service Division of BPJS-Kesehatan (Health Care and Social Security Agency) Banjarmasin Branch Henny, this is the latest provision applied by BPJS Kesehatan after the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 82 of 2018.

Henny explained this during socialization to companies registered in the BPJS Kesehatan Banjarmasin branch work area, Tuesday (3/26). She said this outreach was an effort to establish synergies to succeed health insurance for workers and employers.

"We conveyed many things at the event, including information to the company about the latest regulations governing the implementation of the the National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) program," she said.
