The Tabalong Roaming Community which consists of environmentalists invites the community to preserve the river through the 'Balarut Maharagu Sungai' or cruising while maintaining river activities since 23 to 24 March 2019.

The Chairperson of the community Haris Fadilah stated that river cruising activities are an arena for campaigning for river conservation.

"During our activities we invite people not to dispose of garbage and maintain the sustainability of the river," Haris explained.

Crusing the river with bamboo raft involves a number of communities, including photographers, rock climbing, bicycles, nature lovers students, Jejak Tabalong, Pusaka and Palapubak associations.

Haris said seven rafts were prepared for the activities starting from Mahe Village, Haruai Subdistrict, to Amuntai, capital of North Hulu Sungai District.

The Environmental Agency also participated in this action while also mapping the Tabalong River condition, while the Fisheries Agencyprovided a boat as support.

PT Adaro Indonesia, PT Buma, PT Pamapersada Nusantara, and PT Sapta Indra Sejati also provided support.

"We hope that the river crusing will become an annual event in campaigning for Tabalong River conservation," explained Haris.
