Based on data released by the South Kalimantan Health Office, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) occupies the first position of the most people with hypertension or high blood pressure in South Kalimantan.

Head of the HST Health Agency Dr. Kusudiarto conveyed this during the evaluation meeting of the UKS (school health unit) supervisory team in the district in 2019 in his office, Tuesday (3/19).

"Hypertension is classified as non-communicable diseases, but we urge all HST people to be more vigilant considering it is a disease that can lead to strokes and even deaths," he said.

Coaching of UKS includes implementing a joint decree (SKB) of four ministers, namely Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Health, Minister of National Education, and Ministry of Religious Affair. The support of all parties is needed to always campaign for a healthy lifestyle and prevent disease.

"We hope that every school will always innovate in order to lead a healthy and quality school, including the filling of health report cards, a quality sanitation environment and a certified school canteen, so as to avoid harmful foods such as borak, color paint, and similar materials ," he said.

Regent H A Chairansyah hopes all UKS coaches will be more intensive in carrying out innovation, creativity, and synergy in managing schools, including in the management of UKS.

He suggested that schools who do not have achievements in the field of UKS should do a comparative study to schools that have obtained achievements.

The schools which represent the UKS competition in South Kalimantan Province in 2019 are Al Khair Kindergarten, Al Khair Elementary School, MTsN 2 and MAN 1 Barabai.
