Head of Banjarmasin branch of the National Sports Committee (KONI) H Hermansyah, who has just sworn in for the period of 201-2023, said he will strive that each urban village in the city to have a sports facility.
According to him, the fulfillment of the sports facility is an important part to push achievements.
"That's why I asked the provincial KONI to allow us to form a branch for the subdistrict level," said Hermansyah, who was also a deputy mayor after he was inaugurated by South Kalimantan branch KONI head on an open stage at the siring (river embankment) on Jalan RE Martadinata across the city hall, Monday.
According to him, with the management at the sub-district level, it would be more significant to manage and foster sports, including facilities.
"Because we are committed to advancing this sport higher, and many achievements," he said.
Hermansyah said it needed the support of all parties so that the world of sports in this area could soar up to the national and even international levels.
Chairman of the South Kalimantan KONI H Bambang Heri Purnama asked the chairman of the KONI Banjarmasin to improve performance to bring improved achievements.
"The new chairman of the city's KONI must be better than the past, they must be able to bring Banjarmasin sports even higher," he insisted.
The member of the Indonesian House of Representatives stated because the provincial capital is the warehouse of outstanding athletes, thus sports facilities must be completed.
