Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Directorate General of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Community Education seeks to improve the competence of PAUD educators.
The effort was carried out through the Workshop on Increasing the Competency of PAUD Educators (PTK) in the Central Hulu Sungai Regent Hall, Thursday (2/14).
The program with the theme "Variety of Literacy Activities in PAUD" by bringing in speakers from the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Community Education Sisilia Maryati.
The workshop was also attended by PAUD educators from various other districts, including Balangan and Tabalong Districts.
Sisilia Maryati who is also a practitioner and observer of early childhood said that educators are often trapped in structured learning patterns.
For example, teaching children calistung (reading, writing, and counting) at an early age. Even though playing activities should be the most appropriate learning tool.
"Children in my institution, even though they are not taught the calistung pattern that often looks stiff, they can still read when they are in school," Sisilia said.
After officially opening the workhshop activity, Bunda (Mother) PAUD of HST District Hj Ernawati Chairansyah claimed to be very enthusiastic about thinking and a brief introduction from Sisilia. Moreover, the background of the resource person is a psychologist who certainly is in accordance with the workshop material.
"Hopefully, through this workshop, educators and education staff can increasingly improve their competence in providing early childhood education services," she hoped.
On that occasion also, Mother PAUD got a memento of books from Sisilia Maryati. The title of the book is the same as the theme of the event and gets a book from Airlangga Publishing.
