Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Regent of Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, H Sukamta appealed to the entire Tanah Laut community, especially students and young people not to celebrate Valentine's Day on Thursday (14/2).
 

"Valentine's Day is one of the western cultures that is not to be imitated because it is contrary to the norms and values that exist in our culture in Tanah Laut," said Regent H Sukamta after opening the Tanah Laut LPTQ Deliberation at Sarantang Saruntung Hall, Pelaihari, Tuesday (12/2).

According to Sukamta, if you read the dark history of Valentine's Day, then all Tanah Laut citizens should be compact away from it because the culture is very contrary to Islamic and religious values ??held firmly by the people of Tanah Laut.

"Valentine's Day is a very embarrassing tragedy, so we must stay away from," he pleaded.

The Regent added, the Government of Tanah Laut in the near future will issue a call to ban the celebration of Valentine's Day on Bumi Tuntung Pandang (nickname of Tanah Laut).
