Paringin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - To instill a quality life, the Sahabat Lingkungan Hidup Foundation collaborates with Balangan Green Leader to carry out Eco Youth Camp 2 at Wisma Manyandar, Paringin, the district capital, for January 18-20, 2019.
The activity, which was sponsored by PT Adaro Mining and supported by the local government, to instill a life in harmony with the environment, by becoming a friend of nature, began with seven new awareness of ecological life.
"The life that is quality, simple, thrifty, caring, passionate about sharing, meaningful and hopeful. Finally, we will see various world situations today, there are various damages, but we are called to take care of them. And as much as possible keep the earth beautiful," explained Dr. Ferry Sutrisna Wijaya (57).
Dr. Ferry is the Trustee of the Sahabat Lingkungan Hidup Foundation - Eco Camp Bandung. He is an environmental-based value education doctor from UPI Bandung. According to him, friends of nature love nature. Those who love nature definitely want to care for and protect nature.
The Eco Youth Camp in Balangan Regency is the second carried out with the target of the teachers, so they can pass on the goodness to their students and their environment in the future.
"The Eco Youth Camp in Balangan is the second. The first was attended by 40 students, and the second is about 15 teachers. The Eco Camp in Bandung is attended by around 6000 people each year, so the alumni spread throughout Indonesia struggle in their respective regions to spread kindness towards the earth," he said.
Risna Susanti (28), one of the participants, said with what was obtained from the Eco Youth Camp program she would make changes starting from herself, her family to her students.
"We are taught about how to recognize nature, how to preserve nature, and certainly change our behavior towards nature," she explained.
One of the efforts she was carrying out by carrying her own bottle of drinking wherever she go and act. That is to reduce the amount of plastic waste in her activity environment.
