Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, through the Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency opened a 15-kilometer road access to the Batislangupan waterfall tourist attraction in Satui Subdistrict.

The head of the agency Hamaluddin through the Head of Tourism Destination Arief Hidayat in Batulicin on Saturday said the Batislangupan waterfall was a newly natural tourist attraction discovered by the local community.

Currently, the related agency is developing facilities by opening access to the location.

"Overall the road access to the waterfall is 30 km, but some roads have paved around 15 km and the rest are scrub bushes or can only be passed by foot," he said.

He explained that the plan to open the 15 km road access would involve the Tanah Bumbu Jeep Association, which had the role of opening road routes to the location to be faster and more efficient.

Based on community reports, the waterfall is located in Sejahtera Mulia Village. The height of the waterfall is 14 meters with a river width of about 20 meters which has the potential to become a tourist attraction.

From the report, the related office directly followed up with observations. From the results of observations, the Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency found the waterfall is in the forest area, so many things must be solved administratively for the legality of managing the tourist attraction.

For a while the waterfall is managed by the Forest Farmers Group and tourism awareness groups (pokdarwis) in the local village.
