Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Head of the Banjarmasin Transportation Agency Ichwan Nurkhaliq said the agency planned to make a paid truck parking lot on the South Ring Road, which is a main road to the Trisakti Port.
Provision of truck parking in the area, he said in Banjarmasin, Monday, in order there will be no more chaotic parking views on the roadside.
According to him, there is sufficient land to build a parking area in the South Ring Road area. "This year we will collate the location and compact it first. After that, it can be used as a parking lot," Ichwan said.
According to him, by providing adequate parking locations, it is expected there will be no more trucks or other heavy-duty vehicles parked on the roadside.
"This is the main purpose is that trucks and other heavy transport do not park carelessly anymore," he said.
Separately, Chairman of the Banjarmasin DPRD Commission III Matnor Ali hopes the construction of the parking lot can minimize traffic congestion in the area due to careless truck parking activities.
