Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A fifth-grade female student of SDN 1 Barabai Darat, Deviona Elyta Susanta, won the first winner in individual Komite class Lemkari karate in the 2018 Sudirman Cup II Pre-Beginner Komite across South, Central, and East Kalimantan.
Daughter of First Sergeant (Sertu) Arif Hani Susanta, a member of 1002-05 Pandawan Sub-district Military Command (Koramil), also won third place in the category of team Kata in the tournament which took place in the Banjarbaru December 27-30, 2018.
Viona's mother, Yulita, said the winner was inseparable from hard work, discipline, and totality in practice which was the key to Viona's success.
According to her, Viona, who is still in the 5th grade of elementary school, is indeed has a hobby of hard sports since grade 1. From this hobby arose the desire to actively train to participate in several championships at the district level as well as provinces.
"This 2018 Sudirman Cup II is a proof that hard work, discipline, and totality in practice produce satisfying results," she said.
By winning first place on an individual Komite, Viona has the right to take part in the Karate Lemkari National Championship in Bali to be held early January 2019.
Another young talent from the 1002 Barabai District Military Command (Kodim) is Naya Maulida Izzati. The third grade student of SDN 3 Barabai Timur, daughter of First Sergeant Suyanto, competed in class +25 for early age, and won third place.
