Martapura - Tourism Minister Arif Yahya said Martapura City, the capital of Banjar District, South Kalimantan, could potentially be developed as a halal tourism because it was known as a religious area.


The minister's statement answered the question of the Head of the Banjar Information Communication, Statistics and Coding Agency Farid Soufian at the 2018 Information and Communication Synergy (SAIK) event.
    
"The minister invites the Banjar Government to develop halal tourism because there is also a halal team in the ministry," said Farid, who was contacted in Jakarta from Martapura on Monday after the event.
    
According to Farid, his party informed the Minister of Tourism that Banjar on Sunday (2/12) held a Floating Market Festival in Lok Baintan Village.
    
He explained, Lok Baintan as a natural tourist spot has the potential to be developed and the community is very religious. Can it be developed into a sharia tourist area.
    
The minister explained the type of developing tourism in the area includes 3A, namely attractions, access to locations, and amenities. If there are attractions and access, the amenities will be easy.
   
Meanwhile, the Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information and Chair of the 2018 SAIK Committee Rosarita Niken Widiastuti explained SAIK was attended by the Bakohumas Forum from various regions.
   
"The event was attended by 90 people from the ministry, 45 from BUMN and BUMD, 60 universities, as well as the Information Communication Agency,and 514 public relations officials," he said.
     
While the 2018 Public Relations Media Award (AMH) was given by the Ministry of Tourism to 128 central agencies, and 67 regional agencies.
