Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranewa) - The new chairman of South Kalimantan Wushu Febrianto Njoko stated the sport target to win gold medals in 2021 National Sports Week (PON) in Papua.


Febrianto said he would continue the performance of his predecessor who delivered the South Kalimantan wushu to win a medal in the 2016 PON in West Java.
     
"In the future PON in Papua in 2021, our target is to win the gold medal," he said.
       
Febrianto, who previously ran the Research and Development Dept in South Kalimantan Wushu, said that the first step to realizing this is to increase the development of athletes. "We will thoroughly evaluate the training of athletes, whether they are still placed outside the region or fostered here intensively," he said.
       
Febrianto said the search for local athletes' seeds must be intensified.
       
While the Wushu branch management of in all districts and cities will immediately be dealt with. "As soon as possible we form branches in districts and cities so that Wushu can enter the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov)," he pointed out.

Entrepreneur Febrianto Njoko was elected unanimously in the 2018 South Kalimantan Wushu Meeting at the office of the South Kalimantan branch of the National Sports Committee (KONI), Monday, to become the General Chairperson of South Kalimantan Wushu for the period 2018-2022
       
He replaces Sukendy Johan, who has been the chairman for two periods, 2010-2014 and 2014-2018.

Sukendy expressed his confidence in Febrianto's ability to advance South Kalimantan Wushu to the national level. But he reminded the attention of the regional government, especially the South Kalimantan KONI, must also support it.
