Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - PT Semen LogistiK Indonesia Branch of Banjarmasin lost IDR1,838,608,070 because of an employee who embezzled building materials and made fictitious sales of the company belongings.

As a result of his crime, ASN was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison by the judges of the Banjarmasin District Court. While the other defendant, ATS, a building shop owner, who was involved and proven to have collaborated with ASN, was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months.

"The two convicts were sentenced almost maximal by the panel of judges. The ASN who was the brain of the crime threatened for a maximum of 5 years, while the colleague with a maximum of 4 years," said Public Prosecutor Syamsul Arifin.

The severity of the verdict given by the panel of judges, according to Syamsul, was due to the many losses suffered by PT Semen Logistik Indonesia Banjarmasin Branch.

In addition to a loss of IDR1.8 billion, fictitious fraud and sales caused the company to experience a significant decline in profits so that it could not fulfill its CSR obligations to the surrounding environment.

Especially at the end of this year, the company here will also lay off most of its employees and threatened to stop operations. That was the consideration for giving the two defendants a verdict.

The case was revealed from an audit by the company which found forgery of sales and shipping transaction notes to 71 customers. Including the expenditure of goods without issuing goods shipping documents, which apparently were carried out by the two persons.

Moreover, the convict established two sales companies for building materials used to store the embezzled goods, namely CV Varia Adi Kencana and CV Varia Kencana who redistributed the goods as if acting as official agents.

Head of the Law and Risk Management Bureau of PT Semen Logistik Indonesia Rido Sonny Kardoso appreciated the judges' decision which he judged reflected sense of justice.
