Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A bomb squad (Gegana) of the South Kalimantan Police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) has made an initial investigation on the scene (olah TKP) after a hard thing allegedly a grenade was found by some residents.
"The scene investigation was held on Saturday at around 11:30," said the West Banjarmasin Police Daily Chief Adj Comr (AKP) Sony L Gaol in Banjarmasin on Saturday.
The alleged grenade was found on Jalan Belitung Darat, West Banjarmasin, by Murkan alias Anang (55) and Sabri (46) while they were fishing on Friday. When Murkan digging the soil looking for womb as fishing bait, his crowbar hit the hard stuff just right at the area of PT Sinar Alam.
Murkan had no idea that the thing was a grenade. He dug it out, cleaned it, then handed it over to Sabri to be saved.
On Saturday, they brought the stuff to show it to people. As information reached by West Banjarmasin Sector Police, personnel came right away to check it. Until they confirmed it was allegedly grenade, they secured the location by installing police line.
"We immediately contacted the Brimob's Gegana Bomb Squad for handling according to its functions and authorities related to the findings," said the man who also served as Deputy Head of the Banjarmasin Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
The scene investigation was carried out by the Gegana Unit led by Second Inspector (Ipda) Jainul Aripin along with eight members. During the probe, the local people were watching from a safe distance.
After the scene investigation being carried out, the suspected pineapple grenades taken to the Brimob Headquarters in order to find out whether the stuff still active or not.
"Alhamdulillah, during the initial discovery of a suspected grenade until the scene investigation was finished all went smoothly, safely and in control. I thank the people who quickly gave information to us," said the police officer who is familiar with the media crew.
