Rantau, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Tapin onion is ready to be exported to ASEAN countries. It was after the signing of the cooperation to guarantee the availability of onions for export.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Tapin Red Onion Association, represented by Jahidi, with Director of PT Binagloria Enterprindo Willy Agusman, Thursday (10/18). It was witnessed by Tapin Regent HM Arifin Arpan, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman and the Director General of Horticulture Ministry of Agriculture Ir Suwandi at the Tapin District booth at the 38th World Food Day Exhibition in Banjarbaru.
Minister said Tapin had succeeded in developing onion within three years. At first, it succeeded in developing shallots for domestic production, now the district is able to export abroad.
"This collaboration can certainly guarantee the availability of onion, so the supply is smooth and stable," he said.
Director of PT Binagloria Enterprindo Willy Agusman explained, in this collaboration the company will first provide export quality red onion seeds of Philip super variety in accordance with market prices, as well as providing fertilizer, intextide and herbicide loans as needed in the field,
In addition, it also provides technical guidance from the beginning to the end of the production process and then buys it yields in dry and leafy conditions at market prices.
"Currently we have helped 5 tons of onion seeds to be developed in a 5-hectare area in Tapin District," he said
From the development of shallots, PT Binagloria will buy the products and export them to ASEAN countries, such as Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
Furthermore, if the first loan is successful, it will add later with 50 tons of export quality red onion seeds.
Tapin Regent HM Arifin Arpan welcomed the partnership pattern of onion production with this export quality. "With this collaboration, our farmers will not be hard to sell from their crops, and the availability of seeds can be guaranteed," he said.
