Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Two ships loaded with about 30 tons of illegal fuel were arrested by members of the South Kalimantan Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) on Laut Strait waters, Batulicin, Tanah Bumbu.


"We have taken two different measures in different times against vessels carrying diesel without a permit," said Director of Water and Air Police Sr Comr (Kombes) Gatot Wahyudi.

First secured on Friday (5/10) was an anonymous vessel transport 20.20 tons of diesel. Then on Thursday (11/10), KM Hidayah Makmur Namira ship was captured on the Laut Strait precisely on the Tanah Merah River Estuary carrying 9,18 tons of diesel fuel without being able to show its legality.

"From this case there were two suspects, RD (41), resident of Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi, and MS (29), residents of Tanah Bumbu," explained Gatot accompanied by the Head of Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Sarly Sollu and Measurement Section Head Adj Comr (AKP) Andhika Aris.

In addition to illegal fuel, Ditpolairud also revealed cases of coal theft, which is still rampant. On Friday (12/10), two perpetrators were secured on a barge in Muara Banjar waters.

Previously on September 17, 2018, five suspects of coal thieves caught in the Barito River waters precisely in front of PT Patria in Tabunganen Sub-District, Barito Kuala.
