Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Governor H Sahbirin Noor launched the Green Revolution and Language Revolution for the high school and high vocational school (SMA-SMK) across South Kalimantan in Banjarmasin on Friday (9/28) morning.

"The goal is to invite and teach the importance of greening from an early age," he said in the declaration at the yard of state high school SMAN 5, Friday (9/28) morning.

Uncle Birin (the governor's nickname) hoped that there will be extraordinary efforts to minimize global warming.

"Today we are dependent on AC. Because the earth gets hotter especially the arid environment. The government in carrying out development always pay attention to the environment. I instruct all agencies, whatever activities if they fulfill the greening elements, enter greening," he said.

Uncle Birin added, this activity can be an encouragement for students in planting trees, which will make the atmosphere green, cool and comfortable.

Regarding the Language Revolution, Uncle Birin stated that besides Indonesian as a unitary language, mastering English is one of the capital to be able to continue to compete in the current era of global competition which is so tight.

"Our airport will soon be finished. Surely many foreigners will come to our area. As the host, we should welcome guests well. How can we welcome guests well if we don't understand English," he added.
