Marabahan, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Green Community Forum (FKH) Ije Jela Bahalap in Barito Kuala, South Kalimantan, organized a green festival in a green open space which is formerly a junior high school SMP 1 in Marabahan, capital of the district, Monday (9/24).


When opening the festival, Regent Hj Noormiliyani said the activity was a form of concern and an active role in supporting the South Kalimantan Provincial Government's movement in an effort to organize a shady, cool, beautiful, clean and healthy environment.

"I hope this activity inspires awareness while instilling a sense of love for the environment for children as the next generation to preserve the environment," said the regent.

Green community, she said, is one of the important things in the development of a green city considering the participation of the community as a community network can be the main driving force of the green movement and the carrier of change.

The organizing committee chairman Hasbian Noor said the green festival involved the community in realizing a green and comfortable city. It provides opportunities for expression for the community, builds awareness and concern in maintaining green and nurtures so that a sense of comfort, beauty, and sustainability is realized.

In addition, he explained, it mobilized support from other parties, including the government, private sector, and community groups in realizing an environmentally friendly Batola.
