Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Seaport Area Police (KPL) members confiscated 93 boxes of illegal cigarettes without excise duty while checking a truck in the Roro Terminal parking lot, Trisakti Port.
"We have secured dozens of boxes of illegal cigarette while the perpetrators or their owners are still being investigated," KPL Police Chief Comr Susilawati said here on Wednesday.
The cigarettes without excise ribbon were secured on Tuesday (9/18) midnight at around 00:10, while in the truck.
"After the members examined the brown box which written super wax, 93 cardboard boxes of cigarettes with trademark Melati Delima were found without excise ribbons with a total of 744,000 cigarettes," said the officer.
Susi continued to say that the evidence of dozens of boxes of cigarettes were immediately taken to the KPL Sector Police Station for further investigation.
Anyone who later owns the cigarette without the excise will be charged under Article 54 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 39/2007 concerning excise.
"We will continue to closely monitor the goods and people passing the Trisakti Port in Banjarmasin," he said.
