Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The charm of Banjarbaru's distinctive Muslim fashion from its embroidery Sasirangan show enlivened the commemoration of 25th National Family Day (Harganas) here on, Saturday.

"We are very supportive of this event because it displays embroidery Sasirangan which is the hallmark of Banjarbaru City," said Chairman of the Banjarbaru Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) Ririen Nadjmi Adhani who was accompanied by the Chairwoman of the Banjarbaru Councillors' Wives Association Nahdatun Nusroh and Chairwoman of the Joint Women's Organization Eny Apriyati Darmawan Jaya.

According to the Head of Banjarbaru Gatriwara who was the initiator of the activity, the embroidery Sasirangan is expected to be better known by the public, not only in Indonesia but also abroad.

"That's why we took the artist Terry Putri who had held a Muslim fashion show made from Sasirangan in the Netherlands and Italy, so that through her the embroidered Sasirangan could be global," she remarked.

The wife of Banjarbaru DPRD Speaker AR Iwansyah explained that the charm of the event featured Muslim clothing combined with Sasirangan cloth as a typical fabric of South Kalimantan.

"Banjarbaru embroidery Sasirangan is different from other areas in South Kalimantan, because it is added with embroidery thread that follows the motives, so it is better and more interesting," she said.

According to the Chairwoman of the TP PKK, the trend of the Muslim fashion in 2018 is growing as more and more women are aware of covering up aurat in their daily activities.

"The fashion model that keeps abreast of the times has made a lot of model choices for Muslim women so it must be balanced through a combination of Sasirangan cloth," she said.
