Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The 101/Antasari Provincial Military Command (Korem) began to open opportunities to thugs and unemployed youths to join Defend Country's Existence (BETA) Banua I 2018.
"We want BETA participants to be village thugs, even those who have been jailed, to be trained to become good and eventually able to work," the 101/Antasari Provincial Military Commander (Danrem) Colonel Inf Yudianto Putrajaya remarked here, Thursday.
BETA participants who pass the selection will undergo training and coaching in the form of mental discipline and soul of patriotism. Later they are awarded a certificate after being graduated as a Korem or Kodim (District Military Command) partner.
"The criteria obviously have to be healthy, passionate and willing to practice, no coercion but awareness of change. We seek quality not quantity. The coaching will continue, for example once a month gathered at Korem or Kodim," Putra explained.
The alumnus of the 1993 Military Academy (Akmil) who had been long served in Kopassus, revealed that in principle Korem help local governments, in this case the Governor H Sahbirin Noor, regents and mayors, in coaching the nation youth of the nation in Banua (the province).
The thugs and unemployed who have been trained to become members of BETA, are expected to eventually be employed in various sectors, such as being security at the mall and so forth.
"I will ask the Korem partners or the local Kodim to employmembers of this BETA, because I guarantee that they have become good people and have the ability to work, "added Putra.
If the program of embracing the unemployed who have been neglected successfull, Putra promised to reopen the registration for Beta Banua volumes II and so on until there are no more thugs whose existence only as troublemakers and troubling the community.
