Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan - Coordinator for Private Higher Education (Kopertis) Region XI Kalimantan Professor Idiannor Mahyudin hopes that private universities can improve the students' struggle which is still weak so that the Indonesian nation is left behind in many ways with various other countries.


when opening the dialogue to deepen the values of Pancasila in Kopertis Region XI Hall Friday, Idiannor said the backwardness of the Indonesian nation with other countries is not caused by limited natural resources and human resources.

"Indonesia's natural resources are quite abundant, so are it human resources, many are no less smart with other countries, our defeat is fighting power still weak," he said.

According to Idiannor, the weak fighting power makes the country difficult to develop and left behind in any development, both technology, education, innovation and others.

"Even we are defeated by ASEAN countries though, either Singapore, Malaysia and others," he said.

"It's time we all re-actualize ourselves to improve competitiveness, so we can be immediately independent both scientific and innovative," he said.

The dialogue which was guided by the Executive Secretary of Kopertis Region XI Kalimantan M Akbar was attended by 74 participants from several private universities in Banjarmasin and South Kalimantan.

The speakers were Rector Uniska Abdul Malik, representative of the Director of Midwifery Academy Bunga Kalimantan Devi Agustin, Director of Maritime Academy Noor Fathulliyansyah, and Chairman of Stikes Sari Mulia Banjarmasin Yayu Puji Rahayu.
