Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Transportation Agency will ban truck trailers and container trucks passing on local highways ahead of and after Lebaran (eid season) 2018 for smooth flow of homecoming (mudik) and backflow (arus balik).
Head of Transportation Agency Rusdiansyah after chairing the coordination meeting in preparation of 2018 Idul Fitri in Banjarmasin, Monday, said the technical ban will soon be discussed with all related parties.
"For trailers and containers, it is not permissible to pass several days before and after Idul Fitri, unless the truck carrying drugs, fuel, and basic foods may pass," he said.
Regarding how many days the container transport truck is prohibited from passing, he said, it will be considered and discussed further.
The integrated coordination meeting was held with local police and other technical agencies. It was opened by South Kalimantan Administration Assistant Syamsir Rahman to representing Governor Sahbirin Noor.
According to Rusdiansyah, this coordination meeting is an effort to provide comfort, fluency, security, and improve the safety of travelers during Idul Fitri.
In addition to the container trucks, added Rusdiansyah, other problemneed to be anticipated is the scarcity of diesel fuel and gasoline that occurs today. Such scarcity can potentially complicate public transport during homecoming and backflow season.
"I hope this issue gets serious attention from PT Pertamina, to secure fuel supply during Idul Fitri in South Kalimantan," he remarked.
