Kandangan, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Farmers in South Hulu Sungai (HSS) district are expected to be able to develop organic fertilizer from raw materials around their neighborhood to reduce food production costs.
1003 Kandangan District Military Commander (Dandim) Lieutenant Infantry Suhardi Aji S in Kandangan on Wednesday said to improve farmers' ability to develop organic fertilizer, the military has conducted training on organic fertilizer production.
"In partnership with farmer groups in this area, we organize organic fertilizer training for 100 farmers," he said.
Through the development of this organic fertilizer, he added, the farmers will be able to reduce production costs and this will make farmers more independent.
According to Dandim, his party is committed to supporting food security programs, including special efforts of rice, corn and soybeans cultivation, as well as unhusked rice absorption program in order to support accelerate the production of food crops.
The effort was made to support the development of food self-sufficiency by encouraging farmer groups to immediately cultivate the land and make their
own organic fertilizer, in the hope of being able to accelerate local food security as well as national resilience.
