Banjarmasin (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - Workers in South Kalimantan celebrated Mayday or labor day, May 1, 2018, by not taking to the streets for a rally.

"Despite the labor day, this time we did not take to the streets to rally," said Secretary of the Regional Executive Council of the All Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPSI) of South Kalimantan Drs Abdussani MIKom in Banjarmasin, Tuesday.

He said, not down to the road does not mean there is no problem for workers in the province consisting of 13 districts and cities.

"But we also as a religious people, especially for those who are Muslims, certainly respect nisfu Sha`ban, when Muslims carry out worship services such as fasting," he said answering AntaranewsKalsel.

Regarding the aspirations of the workers, he continued, KSPSI South Kalimantan together with the supporters came to the local provincial legislative council (DPRD) on 30 April. Among their aspirations is still refuse the outsourcing system in the recruitment of labor.

"Because the outsourcing system does not guarantee future of employee welfare, even if the person has worked for many years or a dozen years," Abdussani said.

Regarding outsourcing, Secretary of DPRD's Commission IV on Welfare HM Lutfi Saifuddin assessed it as inhumane, in
consideration is not adequate to the workers level of welfare, also of easy termination of employment (PHK).
