Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Vice-Governor Rudy Resnawan expressed his pride in Banjarbaru City's Human Development Index (IPM) that exceeds the national average.


"The Human Development Index in Banjarbaru reaches 77.96 far beyond the national average of 70.89 to become pride," he said here Friday.

Compared with 12 districts and other cities in South Kalimantan, with an average index of 69.05, Banjarbaru is further, so other regions are expected to increase their HDI.

The high HDI is a mirror of successful development in Banjarbaru City, especially the development of IPM's drivers, namely education, health, and economy.

"The achievement of HDI beyond the national average is a success of development in the field of education, health, and economy, so it must be imitated by other regions," he said.

According to him, the success in the field of development is also seen from the life expectancy of the population is longer than residents in other districts and cities.

"The high level of HDI affects the life expectancy of the population so that the people live longer," said the two periods mayor of Banjarbaru (2000-2010).

"We consider the government is already present in the midst of the society so that the impact on the high HDI and life expectancy is better than other regions," he said.

Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani said that his side keeps trying to present the government in the society through various programs and innovation in the work unit.
