Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The offroaders of the 2018 Bhayangkara Meratus Expedition (MeX) participants arrived in basecamp one and will continue to Tandui River flow in Satui, Tanah Bumbu District.


"All participants have arrived at base camp one on the first day after starting in Pelaihari, Tanah Laut District," said the 2018Bhayangkara MeX leader Syamsir Alam on Sunday.

He revealed, on the initial routes all participants are still going along the foot of the Meratus Mountains. "The second day of the journey continues to basecamp two and three to the flow of the Tandui River," he explained.

Syamsir revealed, all the high daring offroader herded towards the first basecamp to start the adventure of the total plan of 15 basecamps prepared by the committee.

"Every day the participants start at 07.00 to traverse the wilderness of Meratus Mountains that are still virgin along the 320 kilometers to finish at Rindu Alam Beach, Tanah Bumbu," he said.

Bhayangkara MeX officially kicked off on Saturday (14/4) by South Kalimantan Deputy Police Chief Comr Nasri at the yard of Tanah Laut Police headquarters.

317 participants consisting of offroad vehicles 4 × 4, 6 × 6 and dirtbike then started the adventure by entering the jungle and scheduled to finish 28 April concurrently celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Tanah Bumbu.

Interestingly, social services such as mushalla painting and free medication will be coloring this largest and most extreme offroad adventure listed on the official Off-road Expedition (IOX) Indonesia agenda.
