Tanjung, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Adaro Indonesia added Corporate Social Responsibility funds this year to support economic growth in six districts, including Tabalong, South Kalimantan.

Head of External Affairs Division of PT Adaro Indonesia Rizki Dartaman in Tanjung Thursday said through its CSR the company wants to create community independence.

"The use of CSR funds is focused on community self-reliance program and this year the allocated fund is bigger," explained Rizki.

The five districts as the targets of the CSR program are in the Adaro's operational area. They are Tabalong, Balangan, South Barito, East Barito (both are in Central Kalimantan) and Barito Kuala. The total allocation of CSR in 2018 amounting to Rp44 billion derived from Adaro's contributions with its partners.

This CSR fund allocation is bigger than in 2017 which only Rp40 billion and its implementation is synergized with district government program.

Rizki asserted that Adaro is very committed to the empowerment program, even when the world coal price has dropped but CSR program is continuously implemented.

"We believe CSR funding is one of the most important stimuli to grow the economy in the community, which ultimately the company becomes an important part of society," Rizki added.
