Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - South Kalimantan will host a meeting of Islamic scholars from various regions in Indonesia to discuss important issues related to Muslims and the state.


South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor in Banjarmasin on Monday said the gathering of the clerics became an honor for the people of South Kalimantan.

"We would like to thank the trust of The Indonesian Council of Ulemas (MUI) to elect South Kalimantan as the host of ijtimak Ulemas across Indonesia in 2018," he said.

Previously, the governor met the Chairman of the Central MUI KH Ma`ruf Amin to discuss the meeting of scholars planned to take place at Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in Banjarbaru on 7 to 10 May 2018.

The meeting is a strategic agenda, where the scholars exchanged opinions on important issues of Islamic community and state, along with the recommendations of solutions offered
