Pontianak (AntaraNews) - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Deputy of Eradication Arman Depari said the agency noted Kalimantan as the second highest drug user in Indonesia after Jakarta.

"We recorded, the highest in East Kalimantan, followed by other regions, which is why we are seriously concerned to cut off the supply, also to the users," said Depari in Pontianak, Wednesday.

According to him, in theory, to reduce it there must be a balance, must reduce the supply reduce the user of the illicit goods.

"Moreover, the island of Kalimantan is very vulnerable, because it has a land border, sea and air directly with neighboring countries, so it is very prone to be the entrance of international syndicates," he warned.

Depari added that the narcotics syndicate is now turning to Kalimantan in marketing the illicit goods.

"Because we are actively conducting operations on the east coast of Sumatra and the results tons of sabu-sabu type drug were secured. Consequently, international drug syndicates are switching to Kalimantan," he said.

Most likely, he said, the syndicate that has been entered through the sea, then through the land border from neighboring countries to Kalimantan, including to West Kalimantan.

"Perhaps the sabu-sabu transmission is still in a small amount because they are still in the field testing phase," he said.
