Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The central government this year has established four villages in Tanah Laut district, South Kalimantan, into "Desa Tangguh Bencana" (Disaster Resilient Villages), a local official said.


"The four Desa Tangguh Bencana are located in four sub-districts, namely Kurau, Bati-Bati, Pelaihari, and Jorong," said Head of Disaster Mitigation Agency Muhammad Noor in Pelaihari, Tuesday.

These four villages serve as examples for other villages in Tanah Laut in anticipation of natural disasters.

With their determination to be Desa Tangguh Bencana, he explained, all activities and supporting equipment in the four villages are directly assisted by the central government.

Meanwhile, the central government also pointed to the Tanah Laut as a school of natural disasters. According to him, this is in ??Kalimantan only exist in South Kalimantan, precisely in Tanah Laut.

In the future, he said, both the budget and the instructors and other equipment are all borne by the central government.

"We hope this activity can provide knowledge to the community about natural disaster and other disaster," he said.
