Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A chief brigadier (Brikpa) police who helped a drug suspect escaped has finally been caught in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, by a combined team lead by Director of South Kalimantan Drug Detective Sr Comr Muhammad Firman, Tuesday.


"Yes, right, caught in Palangkaraya, the result of coordination of a hunter team lead by Director of South Kalimantan Drug Detective and Central Kalimantan Mobile Detective," said South Kalimantan Police Chief Brig. Gen. Rachmat Mulyana in Banjarmasin, Tuesday.

To Antara News Agency reporter, police chief stated the police are still in the field doing the development.

The search of Chief Brig S, investigator of Central Banjarmasin Sector Police who escaped a prisoner on behalf of Il became the priority of South Kalimantan Police.

Brig. Gen. Rachmat Mulyana formed a joint team of hunters fromBanjarmasin City Police and South Kalimantan Police. Even the police chief warned his members not to go home before the perpetrators were caught.

Chief Brig S is known to deliberately released a drug suspect Il, who was arrested by the Central Banjarmasin police for allegedly involved in drug dealer network and charged under Article 114 of Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics.

Since October 31, 2017, the suspect was entrusted to the Banjarmasin City Police detention.

But lately, Chief Brig S as on-duty police fleed the suspect to falsify the signature and stamp seal of the Banjarmasin District Attorney as if the suspect had Phase II alias P21 to remove him from detention.

But the joint team, which included Central Banjarmasin Police Chief Comr Wahyu Hidayat, for days combing a number of areas suspected of being a Chief Brig S hideout, finally paid off. On Tuesday afternoon he was arrested in Palangkaraya.
