Kandangan, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South Hulu Sungai Resort Police (HSS) conducted a re-enactment of theft cases that ended up with arson the office of the local Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and Baznas (the National Zakat Board), with AA (26) as a suspect.
HSS Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Rahmat Budi Handoko, who was accompanied by Head of Crime Detective Unit Adj Comr (AKP) Sosilo in Kandangan on Wednesday (7/3) said AA demonstrated 35 scenes in the re-enactment that took place at the Office of MUI and Baznas at Jalan Pemuda, Kandangan.
"This incident is purely a criminal act, there is no other element, the perpetrator firstly stole a camera, then he burned the office. The reason of the perpetrator was to remove the traces of his actions," he said.
He explained, the re-enactment directly done by the perpetrator of arson, AA, a resident of Kandangan. AA is his daily is a parking attendant.
Before performing the action, AA sat casually in Kandangan Town Park in a state of half-drunk, after consuming alcoholic beverages.
Subsequently, he went to the MUI and Baznas offices by entering through the front iron fence in Kartika Pertiwi Kindergarten, and through the MSS HSS concrete fence.
The perpetrator entered the MUI office through the rear window, and stole Canon 200D DLSR camera worth Rp5 million, in the Baznas HSS room.
After the action, AA burned the curtains in the MUI office conference room with matches and escaped through the same path he entered before.
After successfully stealing and deliberately burning the MUI office, the perpetrator pretended to come to extinguish the fire which then spread and burned the classrooms of Pertiwi Kindergarten 1 Kandangan.
As a result of his actions, AA was charged with violating Article 363 of the Criminal Code with the threat of 7 years imprisonment and Article 187 of the Criminal Code with the threat of 12 years in prison, and has been detained at the HSS Police Prison.
