Kandangan, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South Hulu Sungai Family Welfare Movement (PKK) held the Sasirangan Design Contest with ketupat as an obligatory motif.
The organizing committee Nurul Yuda in Kandangan, Monday (5/4), said the contest is an annual agenda of local PKK in order to raise the potential of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of HSS.
"In the year 2018, all competitors are required to present the ketupat motif in the design and all must come from the local crafters," she said.
This is different from the years before. Usually sasirangan design contest in HSS with typical ketupat motif can be ordered from
crafters outside HSS, such as Banjarmasin. This year must be from local HSS crafters.
Ketupat is the specific cuisine of HSS. It's a rice cake with special coconut milk sauce and roasted snakehead fish. The shape of ketupat just like a diamond.
The competition held to revive local SMEs, as well as to realize the work program of PKK HSS.
Based on the assessment of the jury, the first winner was Daha Utara Subdistrict, the second winner was Kandangan Sub-district, and the third winner was the Sungai Raya Sub-district.
