Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan will propose the natural attraction of Kiram as a Special Economic Zone (KEK) for Tourism to the central government.


Head of Tourism Agency Heriansyah in Banjarmasin on Saturday, said, beside Kiram, other attractions would be proposed to be the special economic zone (SEZ) in 2018 are Mount Mawar, Riam Kanan, and Kahong Valley.

"Those attractions we begin to explore its potential to be introduced to the national and international world," he said.

According to him, in addition to Loksado, South Kalimantan has the potential of very beautiful nature tourism, it's just been less promotion.

To improve and introduce the tourism potential, the provincial government held tourism promotion activities for 13 districts and cities in South Kalimantan, entitled 2018 South Kalimantan Travel Fair.

South Kalimantan Travel Fair held at Duta Mall Banjarmasin from 2 to 4 March was followed by about 48 participants consisting of travel agencies, hotels, government agencies, and banks.

The event is expected to be able to increase tourist visits to South Kalimantan as well as introduce tourism potential in all regions in South Kalimantan.

According to Heri, this activity is also an effort to support the national program to attract 17 million foreign tourists.

Especially to South Kalimantan, the arrival of the tourists during 2017 has reached 27 thousand. It is expected that the number will continue to increase.
