Tapin Ready to Cultivate Superior Goats

Rantau, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Government of Tapin, South Kalimantan, is ready to develop and cultivate superior goats and is expected to improve the welfare of farmers. 

"The development and cultivation of Boer goat breeder have some advantages compared to other types of goats," said Head of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of Tapin Agriculture Agency Raihani Fatimah in Rantau, Thursday.

Boer goats that are ready to be cultivated by breeder groups have been established to have more meat weight and easy to breed.

Boer goats are from Australia, the weight of a Boer can reach 40 kilograms of live weight, compared to other types of goats ranging from 30 to 40 kilograms.

"The advantages of Boer goats is the weight that can reach 40 kilograms of live weight, other advantages, fast growth in addition to easy maintenance," he said.

On the other hand, Boer goats have a high economic value because the body weight exceeds other types of goats so as to benefit farmers who cultivate.
