Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan 17/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan's branch of the National Sports Committee (KONI) requires that athletes who enter provincial training (Pelatprov) in 2018 to exercise at least four hours a day. 
"We want to focus on physical training this year, at least four hours a day," said Chairman of KONI South Kalimantan H Bambang Heri Purnama on silaturrahmi with Pelatprov Wasaka phase II 2018 athletes at Hasanuddin HM sports center (GOR), Banjarmasin, Saturday.
He expected 69 athletes from 17 sports that are prepared to follow the 20th National Sports Week (PON) in 2020 in Papua are really practicing to have the physical strength of the prime.
"Therefore every ten days we will test their physical strength later," he said.
KONI also, said Bambang, will give more attention to the nutritional fulfillment of the athletes until the desired results to form them with excellent strength can be realized.
"We provide doctors nutrition experts so that our athletes are really awake nutrition," said Bambang.
He asked, no more athletes are sluggish before the game is over until the target to achieve the top ten gold medalists in the 20th PON can be realized.
"Moreover, our province is preparing to host the PON in 2024. It means PON 2020 achievement in the top ten of the highest standings become a resolve realized," he explained.
Targets to be achieved for South Kalimantan in the 2020 PON, he said, 20 gold medals or eleven medals increased from the 2016 PON in West Java when the province won nine gold medals, eight silver, and 19 bronze.
KONI, Bambang said, is really doing a tight selection for coaching athletes who included PON, which must be able to win medals at the national championship event.
