Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru City Government plans to add green open spaces, thus increasing the extent of public space which is still lack. 

"The addition of green open space utilizes the assets of the municipal government," said Banjarbaru City Secretary Said Abdullah here Monday. 

He said, currently the green open spaces scattered in various places in the city is still very lacking, so it needs an addition to make the city atmosphere more comfortable. 

According to the rules on green open spaces, the total green space should reach 20 percent of the total area, but Banjarbaru City has not reached it yet. 

"Banjarbaru has not been able to meet the extent of green open space as required for a city, so we are working to increase the extent," he said. 

According to him, one of Banjarbaru Municipal Administration's assets will be converted into green open space is the area beside the local office of Ministry of Religious Affairs on Jalan Panglima Batur, North Banjarbaru. 

The land that had been for decades controlled by the community and used as a place of business has been freed from the building, so it is ready to be open green space. 

"The extent of approximately half a hectare and the people who master have dismantled the building, so the land is empty and ready to be built green open space," he said. 

It is planned that the construction of the green open space in a location adjacent to the office of PT PLN South and Central Kalimantan will be handed over to the state-owned company.
