Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South Kalimantan Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has confiscated nine kilograms sabu-sabu (crystal meth) during 2017.

"Sabu-sabu is indeed the most evidence we found in the disclosure of narcotics crime this year," said Head of BNNP's Examination Division Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Edy Saprianadi in Banjarmasin on Wednesday.

In addition to sabu-sabu, which totally weighing 9,521.80 grams, BNNP also managed to confiscate 125 ecstasy pills, 4,080,000 Carnophen and 2,542.88 grams of synthetic marijuana called "gorilla tobacco".

"Especially for G-class drug Carnophen and gorilla tobacco cases have been submitted to the South Kalimantan Regional Police," said Edy in an end of 2017 press release at the BNNP Office on Jalan DI Panjaitan Banjarmasin.

Edi also said, of the 27 cases completed in 2017, BNNP has imprisoned 45 suspects for serving punishment in the penitentiary.

"From the perpetrators of narcotics crime was also confiscated Rp57.877.000 money, four cars, 10 motorcycles, and 51 mobile phones," added Edy who was accompanied by Head of Rehabilitation Dr. Sandra.

Not only about the eradication of illicit drug trafficking, BNNP also continues to promote prevention efforts and run rehabilitation programs for abusers.

Throughout the year of 2017, there are about 1,000 people who underwent the rehabilitation program both outpatient and inpatient at Sambang Lihum Hospital.

The amount is still considered very small compared to the number of narcotics abusers in South Kalimantan which is estimated to reach 55,598 people based on data in 2015, said Edi.
