PD-PAL Banjarmasin Will Produce Clean Water

Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government-owned sewage company PD-PAL Banjarmasin will produce clean water starting 2018.

According to PD-PAL Banjarmasin Director Rahmatullah, the company has built a wastewater treatment intake into clean water.

"The intake of PD-PAL water treatment can produce about 5 liters of clean water per second," he said at City Hall Banjarmasin, Friday.

He said the purpose of this is for the utilization of wastewater that is commonly wasted to the Martapura River for community use.

"So we make this new breakthrough, hope can meet the needs of clean water in PD-PAL region, can be for hotels and shipping," said Rahmatullah.

According to him, the development of clean water mini treatment 5 liters per second is not to compete with water utility company PDAM Bandarmasih, but what is done is solely as innovation.

"Alhamdulillah this breakthrough has been approved by the mayor, but he asked to previously do research," he explained.

He ensures the quality of water production of PD-PAL standardized or according to water quality standards that have been determined its health.

"At least can be used for bathing, washing, and latrines, can even for a drink," he said.

So far, he said, PD-PAL managed wastewater is also partially used for government-owned crops, most of which are dumped into the Martapura River with no more pollution standards.
