HSS in flood disaster preparedness

Kandangan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Government of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) through the Disaster Mitigation Agency (PB) and National Unity and Politics (Kesbangpol) declares the district is in flood disaster preparedness due to high rainfall intensity.

Head of the agency Efran in Kandangan, Tuesday (21/10), said this preparedness is to anticipate the overflow of the Amandit River.

"All disaster management personnel, either at the district level or at eleven sub-districts, are stationed at their respective posts, including disaster equipment, such as cars, speed boats, rubber boats, emergency tents, and other equipment," he said.

He explained that disaster prevention equipment has been prepared and stanby to cope with floods, landslides, and whirlwind or tornado.

Based on weather warnings from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Tuesday (21/11), South Kalimantan has the potential to occur moderate to heavy rain that can be accompanied by strong winds.

The areas that are expected to be affected are Sub-district of Laksado, Padang Batung, Telaga Langsat, to extend to surrounding areas.
