Only a few city'a employee go by bicycle

Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Mayor Ibnu Sina's call for employees in the municipal government to go to work by bicycle seems still not fully met.

It was observed in the City Hall parking lot on Friday, there were only a few bikes parked.

One of them belonged to Head of Employment Agency Safri Azmi. To AntaranewsKalsel who met him he acknowledged going to work using a bicycle because he used to.

"Yes, usually on Friday I cycled to the office, let alone a Mayor's call, of course, must be obeyed, as I fond of cycling as a sport," he said.

According to Safri Azmi, he was riding about three kilometers from home to the office, so not too tiring.

"Yes, do not know the others, but me I just love this appeal, because I like cycling as a sport," he explained.

Similarly, Head of Governance Board (Tapem) Iwan Ristianto, who also went to work using a bicycle.

"Ia enjoy it, early in the morning I went to work using a bicycle, I must be early to not be stuck in traffic," he said.

As is known, the Mayor through his circular (14/11/2017) appealed to all employees of Banjarmasin City Government to go to work by bicycle every Friday.

Ibnu Sina said going to work with cycling is the Banjarmasin government efforts to create a healthy city, as well as to follow-up President's instruction No. 1/2017 about the movement of a healthy living community (GERMAS).

In addition, he wants the city of Banjarmasin to be more environmentally friendly.

"This is an appeal first and it is not because of my hobby of gowes, but this is to encourage Banjarmasin to be a healthy city. Healthy city starts from the behavior of healthy life," he said.
