Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government of Kotabaru and the local Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) together with the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) are committed to making women in the district free from cervical cancer and breast cancer.


To realize the determination, TP PKK and IBI intensively conduct intimate and breast organ examination as an effort to make women in Kotabaru free from cervical and breast cancer.

"Make Kotabaru woman free of cervical and breast cancer through IVA and Sadanis test. Healthy mother will give birth to a healthy child," explained Chairman of TP PKK Kotabaru Hj Fatma Idiana during the examination of cervical and breasts cancer in Hampang Community Health Center (Puskesmas), Friday.

"As we know cancer is a non-communicable disease that becomes a public health problem, because of the tendency of deaths due to cancer increases," she explained.

According to her, examination IVA and Sadanis cost about Rp60 thousand. Therefore, this free check gives an opportunity for the public to check the breasts and health of vital organs.

Meanwhile, Hampang Sub-district Head Ani explained that the community welcomes the free IVA test. It was marked by the number of women enrolling in the Hampang Community Health Center to undergo the test.

"The Hampang community response is very positive as about 250 people who signed up to undergo IVA test," said Ani.

Based on Globocan data year 2012, the highest cases of cancer in women is breast cancer, which is 40.3 for each 100.000 with a mortality rate of 16.6 for each 100.000. While cervical cancer 17,3/100.000 with death rate 8,2/100.000.
