Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 18/10 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Education Agency will introduce the history of Banjar resistance against the Dutch colonists through the making of colossal films of the Perang Banjar (Banjar War).


Head of South Kalimantan Education and Culture Agency H Muhammad Yusuf in Banjarmasin on Wednesday said the film was the theme of the spirit of the struggle and hero of Prince Antasari in the fight against the Dutch colonization in South Kalimantan.

"We want the younger generation to be more familiar with the history of the struggle of Banjar in expelling the invaders visually," he said.

According to Yusuf, the film produced using the local budget of about Rp2, 9 billion is expected to foster the spirit of the younger generation to be able to build the region through various achievements.

"We want to evoke the heroic values of the heroes to the younger generation so that the youth can inherit the spirit of the heroes," he said.

The plan, the movie history will be played in schools and in theaters who are willing to work together for the screening of films that are currently in the process of making.

Completing the reference to the history of Prince Antasari's struggle, the agency has organized a seminar by presenting experts in the fields.
