Two fugitives hunt extends to neighboring provinces

Kandangan, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The hunt for two fugitives, KA (31) and RI (20), is now expanding to neighboring provinces outside South Kalimantan.

HSS Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Rahmat Budi Handoko through Crime Unit Chief Adj Comr (AKP) Reza Bramantya in Kandangan on Monday (16/10) said that the two inmates escaped on Friday (13/10) at 02.00 am after destroying the locks of the detention.

"RI is an inmate of theft by force, and KA  in case of unauthorized sharp weapons," he said.

He explained, the joint team of HSS police has done a search but has not found both, then expand the search area to the neighboring provinces.

The search was carried out by going to the place of suspicion as the hiding of the prisoners, in addition to approaching their families, in order to persuade and surrender them.

In addition to hunting, the police through the HSS Internal Affairs (Propam) conducted an examination of the officers who were on duty of guarding the Kandangan Police prisoners on time of the accident.

"The checks conducted to find out the cause of the prisoners were able to escape by damaging the locks of the door of the prison corridor," he said.

Previously, three detainees of Kandangan Police, MR, RI, and KH fled. The escape allegedly happened when four officers were asleep.

The three prisoners managed to destroy the locks of the detention room, immediately escaped through the window of Crime Detective Unit room.

Not for an hour or so, the joint team of HSS Police managed to arrest one detainee, MR, while hiding in the agricultural area of Aluh Idut, Kandangan.
