Tanjung, South Kalimantan - Head of Correction Division of the South Kalimantan Office of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights Anas Saipul Anwar said this year each prison and detention center are added with 20 guards.

"This year there are additional human resources, including guards, in South Kalimantan as many as 500 that we place them in all prisons and detentions," said Anas in Tanjung on Tuesday.

The addition of personnel in each prison and detention centers, said Anang, as an effort to improve services for inmates and minimize the case of prison escape.

Of the 13 prisons and detention centers in South Kalimantan, almost all are over-capacity, except Banjarbaru Prison whose inhabitants are still in reasonable limits.

To expand the prison buildings, said Anas, is still constrained by funds and land. Another solution has then chosen the addition of officers.

Anas spoke after attending the handover of the post of Head of Class III Tanjung Prison from Teguh Suroso to Herliadi and Head Class B II Rutan Prison from Heri Kusrita to Rommy Waskita Pambudi.

Teguh moved to Yogyakarta as Head of Wates Prison and Heri Kusrita to Padeglang Prison, Banten.

The handover of prison head post was also attended by Tabalong Regent Anang Syakfiani and Coordination Forum of Regional Leaders (Forkompinda).
