Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has recorded a September 2017 inflation in South Kalimantan, which is a combination of Banjarmasin and Tanjung, by 0.05 percent with a cumulative rate of 3.24 percent.


Head of South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Tuesday said inflation in the city of Banjarmasin stood at 0.11 percent, while in Tanjung reaches 0.56 percent.

"The rate of cumulative inflation in Banjarmasin September 2017 to December 2016 amounted to 3.41 percent, while the rate of cumulative inflation in the Tanjung was 1.14 percent," she said.

Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in the Banjarmasin included household fuels, chicken meat, and gold jewelry.

Meanwhile, commodities that experienced a decrease in price with the highest share of deflation, among others, chicken meat, watermelon, air conditioner (AC), onion, and eggs.

In Tanjung, the commodity that experienced price increase with the highest inflation were rice, orange, household fuel, car and gold jewelry.

"Commodities in the Tanjung that have fallen in price with the highest share of deflation included chicken meat, spinach, onion, gabus fish and garlic," he said.

The BPS also noted, the consumer price index in 82 cities with 50 cities experienced inflation and 32 deflation. The highest inflation in Tual was 1.59 percent.
