Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 16/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The city government of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, tightened the license to establish telecommunication towers whose draft regulations have entered the discussion in the DPRD.

The reason for this arrangement, according to a member of Commission I Elly Rahmah, in order the city of Banjarmasin, known as the City of Thousand Rivers, not to become a city of a thousand towers.

Whereas said the Chairman of the Special Committee of the Draft Regulation on Tower, the existing regulations do not specifically regulate the establishment of telecommunications towers, such as its height and its zone.

As a result, said the PAN politician, many telecommunications towers stand without seeing the city's beauty and aesthetics, even in densely populated residential areas. It causes a lot of complaints because of the negative radiation impact on electronic devices owned by local residents.

"Things like this that we will try to discuss seriously because if left unchecked the existence of telecommunication towers in our area will be very chaotic," she explained on Wednesday.

According to her, if observed from the air or from the top of the tall building, it is clear that there are many telecommunication towers standing, so it is not impossible that this city will become "the city of one thousand telecommunication towers".

Related to this, she said, the city government will consult to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Informatics about the improvement of this draft, in expectation in the future there is no violation of the rules above it.
