Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology's Higher Education Director General Professor Khairul Munadi invited the entire academic community to promote Al-Qur'an recitation on campus through the National Student Quran Recitation Competition (MTQMN).
"Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) is not just a competition, but it must be our spirit to echo the Qur'an," he said at the opening ceremony of the 18th MTQMN 2025 at the Lambung Mangkurat University's (ULM's) auditorium in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Monday.
He hopes that every Muslim student will continue to use Al-Quran as a guide for life, practicing its values and teachings, being able to read, memorize, understand, and propogate it.
"Making achievement at MTQ is a bonus, Be Quranic generation that continues to inspire your friends on campus," he said.

Meanwhile, ULM Rector Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri expressed his gratitude that MTQMN at ULM was enthusiastically welcomed by all kafilah (delegations) from all over the archipelago.
From the initial to the final selection at ULM, 2,273 students from 280 universities took part. Until finally, 1,500 students from 194 universities were selected to compete in 15 categories of musabaqah.
"Alhamdulilah (praise be to Allah), today's opening ceremony is very lively and all participants attending showing their enthusiasm for the competition," he said.
Professor Alim hopes that ULM would not only be successful as a host, but also in this year's MTQMN achievement.
"Insya Allah (God Willing), we will repay the the Ministry's trust place on us by successfully organizing this year's MTQMN," he affirmed, accompanied by chairing committee of the 18th MTQMN 2025 Rusdiansyah.
