Five students of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) have advanced to the final round of the 2025 International Student Quran Recitation Competition (MTQ) to be held from September 15 to 17, 2025 at Syiah Kuala University, Aceh.
"Congratulation to five ULM students. We hope this delegation can perform optimally and bring home the best achievements," said ULM Rector Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Sunday.
ULM delegates at The Second International Qur’an Recitation Awards (2nd IQRA) are Siti Rofi’ah (female Qira’at), Aqilah Shofia (female 20 Juz memorization), Gusti Aisyah Noor Khalisha (female tilawah), Alya Syawalita Putri (English Debate) and Nurhaliza Ramadhaniah (English Debate).

The student are accompanied by two supervising lecturers: Noor Ainah from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and Surjasni from the Faculty of Law.
It was not easy for the students to enter the final round. They have to go through selection process from July 2025 until they reached the final round.
The university fully supports the students to develop their potential through various events, including this international MTQ.
"This achievement is proof that ULM is developing a generation of accomplished Quranists. Particularly that we will be hosting the 18th National Student Quran Recitation Competition (MTQMN) in October 2025," he said.
The 2nd IQRA final at the Syiah Kuala University will be attended by participants from 20 universities across four countries: Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, and Thailand.
A total 12 competition are contested at the event, which is part of a series of events commemorating the 64th anniversary of Syiah Kuala University.
